The Next Day

You may still be unfit to drive the next day. Keep in mind that alcohol can stay in your blood for many, many hours after drinking on a night out. Sleeping it off, taking a shower or eating a hearty breakfast will make no difference whatsoever to the amount of alcohol in your body. You might feel fine, but don't risk it by rushing it - the only way to be completely sure that you're safe to take to the road again is to allow more than enough time for the alcohol in your bloodstream to disappear naturally at its own pace.
