Keeping Children safe

Children are particularly vulnerable when travelling to and from school, and statistics show that casualty rates significantly increase when children are making the transition from primary to secondary school. This could be because younger children are more likely to be accompanied by an adult when going to primary school. Other factors include unfamiliarity with the route to their new school, inexperience in coping with traffic conditions on their own and the increased risk of distractions such as chatting to friends, texting or listening to music.
