Streetsense

Streetsense is a popular Road Safety Education resource initiated by Road Safety Scotland which is extensively used in primary schools in the West of Scotland.

It is an exciting new approach to teaching road safety to primary school children. The pack, which contains five booklets, links to the Health Education 5-14 National Guidelines and covers Levels A-E.

A folder of ‘additional resources’ is also supplied and can be used to supplement work at any level. The activities are fun and varied and include individual, pair and group work.

The resource aims to:

  • increase children’s awareness of the road environment
  • introduce links to issues such as citizenship, health promoting schools initiatives and sustainable transport
  • and prepare children for independent travel.
